TigerLady's claws are made of high-impact, nylon-infused plastic.
In case you're asking yourself why they aren't made from metal, here's the reason...
We know of a very prominent bar at the beach in Maryland that sees millions of people every summer. You can imagine that a huge beach bar has its share of problems with sexual assault. When we were originally thinking about the product, we absolutely thought the claws should be metal. Then we thought about it some more... if you're a woman and you're going to this bar (and probably hundreds of other bars around the country), the first thing you have to do is walk through a metal detector. Come to think of it, there's lots of places where we need to go through metal detectors. Well, we knew that if TigerLady set off a metal detector that it would be confiscated straight away... then, when she leaves the bar at the end of the night, she doesn't have it -- and we said, but that's when she needs it most!
We made TigerLady using high-impact, nylon infused plastic because:
- It's super strong and flexible
- It doesn't come with inherent legal issues around knives and blades
- It is extremely lightweight and discreet
- TigerLady will do the job - the claws are modeled after tiger's claws
The absolute most important thing about a self-protection tool is that it's there when you need it, so we made TigerLady as easy to carry as we could. Most people we've talked to say they may own pepper spray or a taser, but they never actually carry them... We hope to change all of that with TigerLady.
But do the TigerLady claws work?
